Below Average

The film is yet another love story – a poor boy falling in love with a rich girl and finally marrying his love.

Story:

Tirupathi (Nitin) is the eldest son of Chandramohan He has a younger brother. Tirupathi whiles away all his time doing nothing. He keeps pestering his father to give him one lakh rupees so that he can start some business. But his father refuses, as he does not have faith in him.

Tirupathi sees Priya (Sada) in a temple and instantly falls in love with her. She is the sister of Guru (Sayaji Shinde), a rich businessman. Tirupathi manages to win her love but when Guru gives him 25 lakhs, he agrees to forego his love and forget Priya.

The hero then buys up some ‘acres’ of land and starts a big industry. The hero takes another 10 lakhs from Guru for telling Priya that he is no longer in love with her. He becomes a big business magnate overnight. The rest of the story is how Tirupathi finally convinces Guru and wins the hand of his sister Priya.

Performance:

Nitin is young and energetic. He has not lost his boyish charm. He comes across well in the dance scenes. But his is yet to grow up as an actor. Sada plays her role of a glamour doll with ease. There is also a lot of skin show by her.

However, there is hardly any chemistry between Nitin and Sada and this has affected their performance to a considerable extent.

Sayaji Shinde plays another powerful character but is reduced to a helpless man when confronted by Nitin (just like in Dubai Seenu and Shankardada Zindabad). Ali and Venu Madhav appear briefly. The rest of the star cast adds up to the story in a small way.

The music is okay and a couple of songs are good. Two songs have some peppy music and Nitin has danced well in the song – Ammi Ammi Chumma Dede. The other song that is okay is ‘Aa Aa Aa aa aa…’.

The film is yet another addition to the genre of love stories. The film runs very slow in the first half and raises a lot of expectations in the interval bang. But the second half also runs slowly. The film story is quite predicable and there are not too many twists and turns.

Ali and Venu Madhav’s brief comedy in a bar manages to raise some laughs. Venu Madhav orders Chicken 65 and when the bearer serves the dish, he quips- “I ordered for Chicken ‘65’ and he has brought only ‘five’ (pieces)”. This raises some laughs in the theatre.

The film has all the usual ingredients – love, action, comedy and sentiment. But the end result is just average.
